Seth Brownstein, M.S. & MaryAnn Bock, M.A.
We are a husband-and-wife counseling team based in Burlington, Vermont. Our down-to-earth style helps couples quickly feel comfortable. Our approach is simple, direct and calm.
Over the years, we’ve found – and research has borne out – that the single most important factor in a successful counseling session is the comfort of the client with the therapist. A good match helps form a stronger working relationship. If, after the first hour of an intensive retreat, you’re not comfortable with us, we’ll issue you a full refund – no questions asked.
We do offer team counseling (a husband-and-wife therapy team) if our clients request it. Some couples prefer working with both of us together in their sessions. Many people value the balanced perspective provided by working with counselors who are also a married couple.
MaryAnn is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Over her 19 years of helping couples, she has led numerous workshops, been cited in local publications and appeared on radio discussion shows. She is a Vermont-certified early interventionist and a certified Psychosynthesis counselor. She holds a Masters Degree in Communication Science from the University of Vermont.
Seth is a Licensed Psychologist-Master. During his 19 years of practice, he has counseled couples and individuals, as well as lending his opinions to numerous publications. Seth holds a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School.
Together we established Associates in Couples Counseling in 1990 and have built a busy, full-time practice focused mostly on couples. We’ve worked with everyone from farmers to CEO’s, married couples to civil unions, and everyone else in between.
